The iLocater Team is excited to invite applications for a Postdoctoral Scholar position to work as a member of the iLocater team starting in 2025. This position, based at The Ohio State University, will support the development of the instrument technical, scientific and observing capabilities as part of recent NSF MRI and NASA APRA awards made to the program.
Over the next three years, the iLocater team will be advancing the instrument development and upgrading key program elements including adding an optimized solar feed at the Large Binocular Telescope for instrument characterization and stellar/radial velocity science, equipping the instrument with a laser frequency comb for improved calibration, and developing the instrument data reduction pipeline to optimize science performance. The Postdoctoral Scholar will lead and support these efforts, and depending on experience and interest, may focus on either data reduction pipeline development and/or hardware development and testing.
The iLocater program has a collaboration agreement and code of conduct which are available at https://ilocater.nd.edu/collaboration/. We actively support the broad development of junior researchers as part of the program.
